This is a photo three children in the slums of India, there
are three small children who come from a poor family where money is short and
can not be thrown away on luxuries such as toys that many children in the UK
take for granted. Although these children don’t have much this photo shows that
they are still able to be happy and play just like any other child. They are
happy with just having the company of each other and not need materialistic
objects to create their happiness. In the photo you can see that they have
managed to find some plastic toys and bits of natural material such as planks
of wood to play with creatively.
Although the area they are playing in appears to be a bit hazardous in
the background they seem to have managed to find a safe spot to play.
In my opinion this
photo shows us that you don’t to have much to be happy and that materialistic
objects are not as important as we think, and that relationships with family
members and friends can be far more fulfilling then having the latest toy or
gadget. This picture demonstrates that
you can be happy even if you are from a poor background and can’t afford to
splash cash on the latest items. The photo also teaches us to be grateful for
the things do have in life rather than looking at what we don’t have, because
third world countries struggle to feed and clothe their children and struggle
with the cost of items for essential living, where as some of us at home in the
UK have a lot more then these people and use and abuse or discard of things for
poor reasons such as “its old” and wanting something better for the sake of it.
I think people in UK could learn a lot from this image it demonstrates to them
the fun you can have with just yourself and a few others and a few simple
objects rather than depending on things such as games consoles etc as a way of
having fun all the time.
