Image Analysis

Shanghai Bombing

This is a picture taken on August 28th1937 from the scene of the Shanghai bombings at Shanghais South Station. The image shows one of the last humans left alive after the intense bombings. The props in this image are the debre, demolished building etc, the dust. In terms of non-verbal communication the photographer has shown the desruption caused by the bombing and how severe it was. it also shows that not only were many people affected and killed, but innocent children who had been majorly affected by this incident and that a child has been left alone and stranded because of the bombers actions. The child is dressed in old, tatty worn out clothing which is ill fitting, ripped and ragged. The size of the image is 407 pixels in width and 302 pixels in height. the camera angle is centred and the focus is on the child and the debre surrounding him the lighting looks a bit bright even though the image has been taken in black and white.

The target audience is people in a power of position who would be able to help the situation and raise awarness of this terrible crime and it's consequences and just how bad it effects everyone including innocent children who are helpless. It appeals to both genders of adults of all economic status' and to people of all races and cultures. The picture shows the sever consequences that bombings can have and the damage they are capable of doing. It means that this sort of thing has to stop because people counties and places and lives of innocent people are being destroyed when there are other solutions to problems with better outcomes than this. I think the category of the picture is newspaper in news and documentary form.

explaning shutter speed

Shutter Speed

Shutter speed is simple the amount of time the shutter is open for when capturing an image. It is the length of time your image sensor sees the subject you are attempting to capture.

Jake Garn

Jake Garn Photography

Jake Garn lives in Layton, Utah and is is a young male photographer but his main job is as a restaurant owner and a marketing consultant. He mostly shoots for fun but has recently been taking photography more seriously and taken it on as a work.

This is a photo of to models possibly representing the natural elements, sun and wind. the subject the models have been made to look dramatics in terms of hair and make up and also there poses represent the elements well. This is because the model representing the sun appears to have calm and soothing, relaxed look and gives the feeling of warmth . I like her hair and make up a lot as the body art on her face looks as if it is rays of sunshine and her hair is bright a and shining freely like the sun. The model representing the wind has a much fresher and cooler look and appears to be strong and free flowing like the wind, and also very confident as if nothing can stand in her way just like the wind on a stormy day. I think her hair and make up has also been done really well and gives a good feeling of what she is representing. Her make up looks as if things are being blown around her eye and her hair looks windswept. In my opinion this a really good representation of two natural elements of weather displayed and the two choices work well together even though they are completely different, with one been calm and the other being strong and confident.

Annie Manning Paint The Moon Photography

Annie Manning Paint The Moon Photograph

First and foremost Annie is a proud mother to two little girls named Adeline aged six and Eliza aged two, she says they are her number one muses in her photography. As well as being a photographer Annie is also a Photoshop action and texture designer. Annie has been practically living inside Photoshop for fifteen year, firstyl as a graphic designer and seccondly as a photographer.

this is a photo of one of Annie's pet horses Miss Scout in the field on a spring day. Annie describes her a spoiled saddle bred horse. the photo portrays an image of a healthy happy, well cared for young horse with beautiful marking and well groomed mane and coat enjoying s fresh spring day outdoors in it's natural environment. The main focus is on the horse but i feel the background still stands out well. i think the photo was take using a low aperture as the background is blurred. In my opinion this a great natural un- staged photo of a horse in it's natural environment and i think it displays the horses sweet and calm temperament well. I think the photo resembles a watercolour painting because of the shades used and the blurring.
